This Week? Florence and Venice and Whatever I Can Fit In
So I’m a little behind the curve on keeping everyone up to date but seeing as much of Europe as I am in only 6 weeks means it’s hard to find time to sit down and type. Here is the rest of Italy and next week will be Austria, Prague and Germany so get excited.
So in short I need to come back and spend way more time in each of these amazing places to really enjoy all of these amazing things. I’ll post more details when I have time about all of this stuff but for now this post with a ridiculous amount of pictures in it will have to do. It crazy to really experience and understand how different all of these places are in real life to how you picture them in your head. Still so amazed that I get to wake up and explore all of these cities that I thought I’d never see. Needless to say I’ve already got plans to come back some day.
But first Northern Italy! Padua! Such a cute little city, I love all of the little winding roads and covered markets that are tucked into everywhere we visit. It was crazy though how much Padua contrasted with the bustle of Rome while still having that Italian flare for what of a better description. Maybe it was the architecture or flow of the city but walking through the town you seemed to know that the little streets were leading you to the things you wanted to see. Like the Scrovengi Chapel! (Or Arena Chapel.)
And then there was Florence! Another adorable city that has stolen my heart. There was Michelangelo’s David and the Duomo and it was amazing to see this city that was so rich in the Renaissance. Everything was just so beautiful. I’ll give you more details later but to save us both time I’m going to summarize. Also I thought the street art David was funny so you’ll have to wait for a real picture of him.
ANd then there was Venice! I loved it! I don’t know if it could have been more picturesque I wanted to take pictures of everything cause it was all so beautiful. Even though it was wet and rainy most of the time I was there I still found everything awesome. All of the details put into the churches and the buildings were amazing and I couldn’t decide if the buildings or the art we were seeing were more beautiful. Who knew I could fall in love with a city so fast.
