I Can’t Help it All Being Greek to Me

Cliche.

Clearly this pun is as old as the Parthenon but it’s a very fair way to explain wandering around Athens. The signs and language are all in Greek and there is a nagging notion that I must be missing something.

However that thought is often eclipsed by being surrounded by some of the most amazing buildings and pieces of art in history. Granted I can’t go and show you everything I saw everything but what I do have pictures on occasion are blurry from However, pictures of what I do have may be blurry from the constant jumping at the sharp whistles from guards stopping people from touching stuff. Apparently there is a group of tactile tourist making their way through Athens so BEWARE!

Overall? Greece is absolutely surreal! Everywhere I look it’s just amazing and beautiful and I can’t believe that I’m here!

As you can clearly see, I’m a very giddy tourist.

But can you really blame me with all of the beautiful architecture everywhere? Between Athens and Nafplio my memory card is filling up alarmingly fast.

Of course, nothing is perfect. The Parthenon now has perennial scaffolding but it was still very awe inspiring. It was as if I was living out a movie or a book. And it was amazing! All the dreams coming true. Experiencing is so much better than only imagining.

If you’re wondering where all the pictures are, don’t worry. I’m going to spam you with them all later. But These were the ones that I really loved for Athens and there will be more for Nafplio and all of the other amazing places I’ll be visiting on my Art History Study Abroad. Sooner or later though I think I’m going to have to come to terms with the fact that despite my professors’ amazing planning there will still be too much to see and too little time.
